Optometrist near Park Extension, one bus away
Of all the neighbourhoods south of the clinic, Park Extension is one of the closest. PrimeVision is not in Parc-Ex, but just to the north, at 9520 Boulevard de l'Acadie, Suite 222, near Marché Central, about 2.8 km from Park Extension. A single bus, the 179, makes the trip with no transfer, and the drive takes about 10 minutes. For an eye exam, a child squinting at the board, or broken glasses, the trip stays short.
Getting here from Park Extension
By bus
At the Champagneur / Saint-Roch stop, take STM bus 179 North. Stay on for about 15 minutes (11 stops) and get off at De l'Acadie / De Louvain. The clinic is about a 2-minute walk (120 m). On October 30, 2026, on a weekday afternoon, Google Maps gave about 18 minutes door to door. The schedule changes through the day, so check the STM trip planner before you leave.
By car
Boulevard de l'Acadie leads straight to the clinic: 2.8 km, about 10 minutes. Via Rue Birnam or Avenue Querbes, the time was the same (up to 3.3 km). Parking is free on site.
One bus, even with kids
With no transfer, the trip is easier with a stroller or young children. We examine children from age 4, on weekdays and Saturdays. If your child's nearsightedness goes up from one year to the next, ask us about myopia control.
Who pays for the exam
RAMQ covers eye exams for children under 18 and adults 65 and over. For adults 18 to 64, the exam is generally not covered by RAMQ, with some exceptions; private insurance may reimburse all or part of it, depending on your plan, and we bill most major insurers directly. See our eye exam coverage page.
