Optometrist near the Plateau-Mont-Royal

The PrimeVision clinic is not on the Plateau-Mont-Royal. It is further north, about 7 km away, at 9520 Boulevard de l'Acadie, Suite 222, in Ahuntsic-Cartierville, near Marché Central. From the Plateau, you head up Boulevard Saint-Laurent by car, or Rue Saint-Denis by bus. If you live on the Plateau and wear contact lenses or glasses, you can have the exam, the fitting and the purchase done in one place.

From the Plateau to the clinic

By car

On October 30, 2026, on a weekday afternoon, Google Maps routed the trip north along Boulevard Saint-Laurent: about 24 minutes for 7.4 km. The route along Avenue du Parc and then Boulevard de l'Acadie gave about 27 minutes for 7.2 km. Times vary with traffic. When you arrive, parking is free, so there is no hunting for a spot on the street.

By public transit

At the Saint-Denis / Saint-Joseph stop, board bus 31 North, which runs up Rue Saint-Denis to Station Crémazie Nord (17 stops, about 21 minutes). Then take the 20 West to the De Louvain / De l'Acadie stop, a one-minute walk from the clinic. The whole trip takes about 43 minutes. If you are already on the orange metro line, get off at Crémazie and take the same 20 West bus from Station Crémazie Nord. Check the day's schedule in the STM trip planner.

Exam and glasses in one visit

Since the trip takes about 24 minutes by car and 43 minutes by bus, it makes sense to do everything the same day. After the exam, you choose your frame at the same address, from more than 4,000 frames, for every budget. Single-vision lenses are cut in our on-site lab.

Eye exams and RAMQ

RAMQ covers eye exams for children under 18 and adults 65 and over. For adults 18 to 64, the exam is generally not covered by RAMQ, with some exceptions; private insurance may reimburse all or part of it, depending on your plan, and we bill most major insurers directly.
