Eye exams near Saint-Michel

Live in Saint-Michel? PrimeVision is not in the neighbourhood: we are about 6 km to the west, at 9520 Boulevard de l'Acadie, Suite 222, in Ahuntsic-Cartierville, near Marché Central. Autoroute 40 West brings you here by car, and Rue Jarry is where the bus trip starts. Our three optometrists see adults, seniors and children from age 4, in French and English.

Getting to the clinic from Saint-Michel

By car

Take Autoroute 40 West toward the Marché Central area. On October 30, 2026, on a weekday afternoon, Google Maps gave about 17 minutes for 6.0 km. The variants that leave the 40 earlier, by Boulevard de l'Acadie West or Boulevard Crémazie West, gave about 17 or 18 minutes. A slowdown on the 40 can add several minutes. Parking at the clinic is free.

By public transit

The trip takes a single transfer. At the Jarry / Saint-Michel stop, take bus 193 West for 4 stops, to Jarry / Crémazie. Then board the 20 West and get off at De Louvain / De l'Acadie, a one-minute walk from the clinic. Allow about 35 minutes in total. Schedules change with the time and day, so check the STM trip planner before you leave.

For school-age children

A child who squints at the board or gets headaches after school should see an optometrist. We examine children from age 4, and the clinic is open Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm, so they don't have to miss class.

Who pays for the exam

RAMQ covers eye exams for children under 18 and adults 65 and over. For adults 18 to 64, the exam is generally not covered by RAMQ, with some exceptions; private insurance may reimburse all or part of it, depending on your plan, and we bill most major insurers directly. See our eye exam coverage page.
